The most expensive Minneapolis/St. Paul home sales of 2023

Despite a general market slowdown, luxury homes are still selling for high prices in 2023, including a sale that was one of the biggest deals seen within the past few years.

This year so far, the top 10 single-family homes that sold have totaled $78.5 million, according to Business Journal research and NorthstarMLS data provided by Minneapolis Area Realtors.

That’s already ahead of last year’s total of about $77 million, the Business Journal reported last year.

Here are the top 10 single-family home sales in 2023, according to data from NorthstarMLS through Minneapolis Area Realtors and Business Journal research, from the least expensive to most expensive sale price:

10. 275 Lakeview Ave. – $6.23 million

City: Tonka Bay

Sold in: February

This four-bedroom, four-bathroom home has 180-degree views of Lake Minnetonka’s Gideon Bay and has 233 feet of lakeshore frontage.


9. 20730 Linwood Road – $6.25 million

City: Deephaven

Sold in: August

This 3,502-square-foot home offers west-facing lakeshore, a gourmet kitchen and a screened-in porch.


8. 3017 North Shore Drive – $6.8 million

City: Orono

Sold in: September

This home looks different than it did when it last sold earlier this year (No. 2 on this list.) That’s because Swanson Homes split the lot and demolished an existing western garage in order to carve out a new one-acre lot next door. The company is rebuilding a garage for the home.


7. 20260 Lakeview Ave. – $7 million

City: Deephaven

Sold in: January

Originally constructed in 1890, the home underwent a significant remodel in 2010 by Excelsior-based Landschute.


6. 6377 Cliffwood Circle – $7.24 million

City: Victoria

Sold in: January

This 8,627-square-foot home, the result of a collaboration between the former owner and Murphy & Co. Design, Streeter Custom Builder and Ellington & Co. Design, overlooks Lake Minnetonka’s Smithtown Bay.

City: Orono

Sold in: April

Dubbed Windermere Estate, this 13,949-square-foot home was sold by Kaskaid Hospitality CEO Kam Talebi and his wife, Sara. The home initially hit the market for $15 million.

City: Orono

Sold in: May

This 10,000 square-foot estate faces Lake Minnetonka’s Crystal Bay and has a sports court, movie theater and wine cellar.
