At the Pruden Company, Jessica and Peter Pruden live by these words, which they recently posted on Instagram. They know what it is like to be kind, work hard, have a heart of gratitude, and chase their dreams. In 2014 alone, they topped $60 million dollars together with over $89 million for their company.

What’s the secret to their success? “We are service-oriented people, leading from within, and come from a centered place of authenticity,” says Jessica.

She and her husband Peter have made waves in the local real estate scene. A standalone team, Peter and Jessica do every deal together. At their company, they have six independent agents and two full-time employees.

Jessica was licensed in 2014 in sales and as a broker in 2017. As for Peter, he was licensed in the Spring of 2018. Together, they are the winning combination for success.

“The majority of our deals are in the luxury space,” comments Jessica, “But we work with clients in all price points.” Peter is talented at thinking outside of the box; he loves taking on one-of-a-kind properties that allow him to showcase his unique marketing abilities. “When working with buyers, we nicknamed him the ‘truffle pig’,” chuckles Jessica, “Because he’s exceptional at finding the perfect property, which many times is off market.”

Road to Real Estate

Prior to real estate, Jessica worked in different sales roles. In 2013, was asked if she would create a residential leasing and management division inside FirstService Residential. She worked there for 3 years, until 2016 when her boss approached her and said he was planning to sell the division to her competitor. Peter and Jessica quickly created a plan to purchase the division that Jessica had created from the ground up. The offer to purchase the division was accepted in May 2016. They launched Prudden Company as a leasing and management brokerage.

As for Peter, he enrolled both on the football field and with academics. As a 4-year starter on the university football team, the baseball team and the Academic All-Big Ten Team, he went on to try out for the NFL, but didn’t find a spot. He soon found high-octane sports. Peter looked into stock trading. He went to get hired by a Wall Street investment company.

He worked as a Wall Street trader, then transitioned into small investment funds.

Around the time that Jessica launched her own brokerage in 2017, Peter was looking for his next calling in life. He always was intrigued by real estate. He shared with Jessica, “We have a lot of Million Dollar Listing New York. ‘It looked fun, exciting, and creative.”

Finding Fulfillment

Real estate is a natural fit for Jessica and Peter. “I love the architecture of a home, designing an office,” says Jessica. “Your home is such a sacred place—it sets the tone for the day—so being able to help find that for people brings me such joy.” She feels honored that clients choose them to help with such a big milestone.

“Real estate is the first time in my life where the tangibles and intangibles aligned,” Peter says. “I think a lot of agents do real estate help him use his core skillset, but it’s also a profession that brings fulfillment in so many ways. It has so much to offer this entrepreneur.”

“Real estate allows me to serve others and make an impact; that’s the most important thing! It’s less about us and having something to prove, we just want to give to others,” he adds.

Together, they want the best for their 12-year-old daughter Savannah, their “why.” “Savannah is the reason why,” Jessica explains, “I want to be a good role model for her. I want to show her that women can do it all—raising a powerful child while still keeping that level of care, which is a big driving force.”

Catering to Clients

There are no shortcuts to success. Jessica understands that philosophy firsthand. She just finished a year-long transaction and her client told her, “You didn’t force us into it, you found us a home that fits our needs.” Jessica shares, “We want lifelong clients. Referrals speak on our behalf, which brings me endless happiness.”

Peter finds great joy in creative marketing and telling a property’s story. “Plus, I love the negotiation and all that comes with it,” Jessica admits. “I don’t think there is a better negotiator than Peter.”

It’s not easy doing deals, but Peter has mastered the art of the deal, taking them to the closing table. How does he do it? “First, you have to be able to understand what the client wants AND what the other party is looking for in order to be a good negotiator, you have to make everyone at the table achieve their objective.”

Family Life

When not working, the Prudden value the constant companionship of their two dogs, Biggie and Jenny. Biggie Smalls, who has a huge following on Instagram, is a Corgipoo and Jenny Chase is a Bichon Shih Tzu.

To relax, Peter and Jessica love cooking dinner together, going on active vacations, and walking. “We are on a quest to remain in our peak for as long as we can,” explains Jessica. They’re health-conscious people, pausing on alcohol and diving into health and wellness. For Jessica, it’s a mission reaching her late 40s, she wants her diet and health to be optimal. She works with a health coach that focuses on macronutrients and lifting weights. One fun fact—both Peter and Jessica can leg press the same amount of weight—around 270 pounds!

They love vacations where lots of activities are involved. “Jessica is a willing participant,” Peter smiles. “I love Sun Valley, Idaho. It’s a ski town without the glitz and glamour, a low-key environment to replenish, recharge, and find clarity in life.” Peter’s dad just happens to live there, too.

A Powerhouse

With unstoppable drive, infectious energy, and a passion for people, Peter and Jessica Prudden are redefining what it means to be a powerhouse in real estate. Whether they’re negotiating million-dollar deals, mentoring clients through life-changing moves, or crushing leg day together, the Prudden’s bring their A-game to everything they do. Fueled by purpose and grounded in gratitude, this dynamic duo isn’t just raising the bar—they’re setting it.
