
Twin Cities’ most-expensive home sale in August sold for $5.8 million
The most expensive Twin Cities home sale in August took place in Orono at 1105 Tonkawa Road, which sold for $5.8 million.
The home sold in a cash deal that closed Aug. 30, according to a certificate of real estate value.
The Lake Minnetonka home was built in 2021 on a 1-acre lot that sold in 2019 for $1.6 million, according to Hennepin County property records. The home includes 166 feet of shoreline between Maxwell Bay and North Arm, according to its listing from Jon Arne with Coldwell Banker Realty.
The 4,800-square-foot home has four bedrooms and five bathrooms and was designed by Excelsior-based architect Mike Sharratt.
The home features luxury amenities such as a chilled wine room, a saltwater pool with an automatic cover, a sauna and a large garage that doubles as a sports court. Additionally, the home is equipped with household appliance brands such as Sub-Zero, Wolf and Miele.
With an estimated market value of $3.2 million, the home was charged over $36,600 in 2024 property taxes.
The sale is $1 million pricier than the most expensive home that sold in July.
